Alberta Wildfires Ravage National Park
Jasper National Park Suffers as Wildfires Rage Through West
Parks Canada and Wildfire Services Collaborate to Address Devastating Blazes
As much as half of the town of Jasper, nestled in the heart of Jasper National Park, has been engulfed by raging wildfires that have devastated the region. The fires, fueled by a historic drought and extreme heat, have caused widespread destruction and forced thousands to flee their homes.
Parks Canada, the agency responsible for managing national parks, and Alberta Wildfire, the provincial firefighting agency, are collaborating closely to combat the blazes. Alberta Wildfire is providing personnel, equipment, and expertise to support Parks Canada's efforts to contain and extinguish the fires.
