Knockout Rounds and Play-offs Determined

The European Qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2024, which ran from March to November 2023, have concluded. The group stage and knockout rounds have determined the teams that will advance to the tournament, which will be held in Germany.

Group Stage

In the group stage, the 55 UEFA member nations were divided into 10 groups of five or six teams each. The top two teams in each group qualified directly for the tournament, while the third-placed teams advanced to the play-offs.

Knockout Rounds

The knockout rounds consisted of two rounds of single-leg playoffs. In the first round, the third-placed teams from the group stage played against each other, with the winners advancing to the second round. In the second round, the winners of the first round played against the two lowest-ranked teams from the UEFA Nations League.

Play-offs

The play-offs will be held in March 2024, with the three winners joining the 20 teams that have already qualified for the tournament. The play-offs will be drawn on 21 November 2023.
